Diwali in Leicester

It's my first year in Leicester so I decided to go and see the Diwali fireworks and try and get a few good shots. This is what I came up with...

These orange fireworks gave a weird effect like the old Windows screensaver.

Leicester Botanic Gardens

Today I finally made it on a trip to the Botanical Gardens opposite my University Accommodation. The gardens are really pretty and there was a sculpture exhibition on too.

I think this one was called something like "the two of us" and it has to be my favourite.

The yellows and reds of autumn made for some good pictures.

I decided to use my magnifying filter on my wide angle lens so I went a little overboard with the macro shots...

I don't know what these flowers are but I love them.

This guy kept pestering me so I thought I'd let him get in a shot.

The fuchsias look so pretty, I loved all the different colours.

I love bees, these were very cooperative!

This was just going to be a shot of a thistle, but I got photobombed... Timing!

I don't know what this is either but it's pretty cool!

At first I thought this was grass, but when I looked closer I found out that it was hundreds of tiny saplings... Cute!

The squirrels here are a lot less cooperative...

These gardens are definitely somewhere I will be returning to for more photographs soon!
