Today we went around Scarborough to see what we might stumble across, i have to say it was a success!
We went to the Mere first, there was quite a few species, first there was a coot.
Then to my pleasure we saw a Mandarin Duck! These are my absolute favorite, they're just so colourful and stunning. Beautiful.
There was also a Red Crested Pochard with a magnificent hair-do.
The Pochard and the Mandarin posed together for a few seconds, long enough for Luke to get a good shot.
The Tufted Ducks were out in force today, stylish birds.
There was a few Domestic Geese making a racket.
We think this one was a bit of a hybrid...
Near the Cemetery we spotted some Treecreepers, there was quite a few.
Luke got this shot of a Crocus just about to bloom.
This Goldcrest wouldn't stay still to allow me a decent shot.
Another of Luke's artistic shots; some Snowdrops this time.
We got Hailed on a little bit, it was too dark for a higher speed shot.
There were buds just beginning to show on a lot of the trees and shrubs, spring is near.
Little white feathers were hanging of branches everywhere!
You can tell its rained a lot recently...
A pigeon being a pigeon... Eating.
The Squirrels at Peasholme knew where to wait for food.
The boys enjoyed feeding the pigeons some nuts, they're quite brave!
There was a lot of mud around, and some muddy birds!
You can't even see this Moorhen's yellow legs!
The bunting was still up next to the lights.
The Canada Geese were staring at us, got some good reflections though.
As always the Geese got a bit rowdy.
There was a mix of Black-Headed Gulls in winter and summer plumage's.
We weren't expecting to see a Redshank in Peasholme! It let us get quite close too.
The Woodpigeon stayed in the trees as the hail began to fall again.
